Momentic Raises $15M to Bring AI Automation to Software Testing at Scale

While product launches often steal the spotlight, the real work behind software development lies in debugging, quality assurance, and continuous testing. These essential tasks ensure that digital products function flawlessly, yet they are repetitive, time-consuming, and often overlooked. Now, companies are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence to automate this critical workload—and one fast-growing startup is leading that transformation. AI-powered testing startup Momentic announced that it secured $15 million in Series A funding, led by Standard Capital with participation from Dropbox Ventures. Previous investors, including Y Combinator, FCVC, Transpose Platform, and Karman Ventures, also joined the round. This new investment follows a $3.7 million seed round completed earlier this year, positioning Momentic for aggressive expansion.

Making Testing Faster, Simpler, and Smarter

Momentic offers AI-driven testing tools designed to replace manual processes and reduce dependence on traditional frameworks such as Playwright and Selenium. These legacy tools provide fine-grained control but require engineering expertise. By contrast, Momentic allows teams to simply describe user flows in plain English, and the AI automatically transforms them into scalable verification workflows.

“We help our customers make sure their product works,” said co-founder Wei-Wei Wu. With engineering experience gained from developer-focused companies like Qualtrics and WeWork, Wu has seen firsthand how testing bottlenecks hinder product velocity. His co-founder, Jeff An, shares similar expertise in developer tooling.

Rapid Adoption From Leading Tech Teams

More than 2,600 users are now on Momentic’s platform, including reputable brands like Notion, Xero, Webflow, Bilt, and Retool. While the company has not disclosed revenue figures, investor confidence remains strong thanks to consistent customer growth and high demand for testing automation.

One of the biggest advantages of AI in this field is scalability. In the last month alone, Momentic automated over 200 million test steps, a volume nearly impossible to achieve with manual workflows.

Competition From AI Foundation Leaders

However, Momentic isn’t alone in this race. Major AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic have introduced agent-based testing capabilities powered by their expanding reasoning and computer interaction models. As AI systems grow more autonomous, enterprise software vendors must continuously evolve to stay ahead.

What’s Next for Momentic?

With the new funding, the startup plans to enhance support for mobile environments and introduce more sophisticated test-case management. Wu believes that the rise of AI-generated software will create an even greater need for automated quality assurance tools.

“All of these apps need testing,” Wu said. “They care about quality, and we’re going to provide it for them.”

Momentic aims to ensure that as AI accelerates development, reliability and performance keep pace.
